Rate Details

I strive to ensure my services are accessible for clients seeking my support to the best of my ability. In an effort to accomplish this, I work with a number of options for fee payment. Please see below sections for a breakdown of each option (insurance plans, out-of-network self-pay, and sliding fee) as it may pertain to your insurance.

Billing is processed electronically through the secure client portal, with payment of session fee/copay due at time of service unless we have arranged a payment plan/schedule in advance (e.g., biweekly payments timed to pay periods). I am always receptive to requests to explore available payment options if this would make the counseling process more accessible for you.

Insurance

I am currently in network with Aetna, Meritain, and associated Allied insurance plans. If you are not using one of these carriers, please scroll down for other available options. If you are using one of these carriers, please check with your plan to determine what deductible or copay responsibilities you may have as all plans vary with respect to terms of service. For in-network insurance, I will confirm the contracted session rate with you ahead of our initial meeting to ensure accurate co-pay rates and appropriate frequency of care within the limits of your plan (e.g., some plans do not cover extended sessions beyond the standard therapy hour).

For high deductible plans, I understand that paying full session rate leading up to the deductible has the potential to create a burden for access initially for some individuals, and I am open to exploring options to hopefully alleviate this burden.

Out-Of-Network Insurance

If you have an insurance plan with an alternative carrier, you may still be eligible for similar or partial coverage of session fees. Not all plans offer this benefit, so it would be important to confirm that this is an option for you ahead of scheduling. If this coverage is not available in your plan, please scroll down to the next section.

Out-of-Network (OON) coverage typically operates differently with a separate deductible and coverage rate, but this is not always the case. In addition to this difference, OON claims are not filed through me. We would work through the full self-pay rate (listed in the next session), and I would then send you a routine “Superbill” for you to then file with your insurance to receive reimbursement through the OON coverage rate. I am more than happy to assist with the initial process of this as you get used to it if you have not filed OON claims before.

Private-Pay Rates & Sliding Scale

The full private-pay rate (i.e., rates for OON insurance reimbursement or no insurance/OON coverage**) is $200 for the first intake session and $180 for ongoing sessions. For extended sessions (e.g., 90-minute sessions), an additional $90 is added for each additional 30-minute interval (e.g., total of $270 for 90 minutes).

**If the above private-pay rate is not affordable for you, I do have a sliding scale application for a limited number of clients who do not have insurance or out-of-network coverage options, which provides a discount from the full rate to increase access to care. The sliding scale discount is reviewed at the start of each calendar year and with any major life changes that impact this calculation (e.g., a new dependent, job changes, new insurance).

If you are uncertain whether you may qualify for this discount, I would encourage you to still reach out to for a consultation to discuss this further so that we can collaborate on options, whether that is through my sliding scale or via referral to an alternative provider who may meet your needs.
